1. About This Platform

Mauritius AI Network ("M.A.I.N", "we", "us", "our") is an independent, privately operated discovery registry based in the Republic of Mauritius. The platform connects verified AI professionals, organisations, and ecosystem stakeholders in Mauritius through a curated, manually reviewed directory.

M.A.I.N is not an employer, recruitment agency, AI service provider, or party to any commercial arrangement between members. We provide a neutral discovery and connection service only. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service in full.

2. Eligibility & Account Registration

To register on the platform you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements;
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself or your organisation;
• Maintain only one account per individual or organisation.

Accounts created with false identities, duplicate entries, or for purposes of deception will be permanently removed without notice. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

3. The Verification Process

Profiles on M.A.I.N are subject to manual review by our team before becoming publicly visible. We may request supporting documentation to confirm your identity, credentials, or organisational affiliation. Verification is granted at our sole discretion.

Verification is a confirmation that identity checks were conducted — it is not an endorsement of professional competence, qualifications, or the accuracy of any claims made in a profile.

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval. Verified status may be withdrawn at any time if we determine that information is false or misleading, or if you breach these Terms.

4. Permitted Use of the Platform

Subject to these Terms, you may use the platform to:

• Browse the verified AI professional and organisation directory;
• Post job listings, events, and ecosystem opportunities (subject to content review);
• Submit mediated contact inquiries to verified members;
• Manage your own profile, visibility settings, and submitted content;
• Access publicly listed opportunities, events, and job postings.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You must not, under any circumstances:

• Register with false, misleading, or unverifiable identity information;
• Systematically scrape, harvest, or copy platform content using automated means;
• Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam through the inquiry system;
• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or discriminate against any member;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, databases, or server infrastructure;
• Commercially redistribute, resell, or licence member data to third parties;
• Use the platform in any way that violates applicable Mauritius law or international law;
• Post content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.

6. Artificial Intelligence & the EU AI Act

M.A.I.N does not deploy AI systems classified as high-risk under Annex III of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act). The platform's core functionality — a manually curated professional registry — does not constitute an AI system within the meaning of Article 3(1) of the EU AI Act.

If AI-assisted features are introduced (for example, content suggestions or search ranking), they will be clearly labelled, and this section will be updated accordingly. All profile verification decisions are made by human reviewers.

You may not use data obtained from this platform to train, fine-tune, or evaluate AI or machine-learning models without our prior written consent. If you deploy AI systems that process the personal data of M.A.I.N members, you bear sole responsibility for ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act and any other applicable AI regulation.

7. Intellectual Property

All platform software, design, branding, logo, and documentation are the exclusive property of Mauritius AI Network or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works from platform materials without our written permission. The "Mauritius AI Network" name and logo are proprietary identifiers; use of either requires prior written authorisation.

8. User-Submitted Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the platform (including profile text, job listings, event descriptions, and opportunity posts). By submitting content, you grant Mauritius AI Network a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and moderate that content for the sole purpose of operating and improving the platform.

You warrant that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our community standards, without prior notice.

9. Disclaimers

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

• The accuracy, completeness, or currency of any member profile;
• The availability or suitability of any job, event, or opportunity listed;
• The outcome of any introduction or contact made through the platform;
• Uninterrupted or error-free platform operation.

You use the platform and act on information obtained through it entirely at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Mauritius, Mauritius AI Network shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform.

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or MUR 5,000, whichever is lower.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mauritius AI Network, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your breach of these Terms, your use of the platform, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Termination & Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our discretion, including for breach of these Terms, fraudulent conduct, or where required by applicable law. Where possible, we will notify you in advance; however, immediate suspension may be necessary to protect other members or the integrity of the platform.

You may request deletion of your account at any time from your account settings. Requests are reviewed by our team rather than actioned instantly, so we can catch disputes or mistakes first. Once approved, your public profile is removed, though we may retain certain data as required by law or our data retention schedule (see our Privacy Policy).

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Mauritius. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Mauritius.

Before commencing any legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute through direct negotiation for a period of thirty (30) days.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email at least fourteen (14) days before the new terms take effect. Your continued use of the platform following notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
